Sabitra Bhandari, who is popularly knows as Samba, the striker of the Nepali national women's football team, is going to play European football tournament.
Samba has signed a contract with Israel's top division club Hapoel Ra’anana for the upcoming season. Although Israel is on the Asian continent, its club can participate in European tournaments.
It was informed through social media on Tuesday that Samba has signed a contract with Israel's club.
After signing the contract, Sabitra said that her long-cherished dream of playing in European football is about to come true.
“My long-cherished dream is about to come true," she said, "I will use this opportunity to the best of my ability.”
Samba stole a limelight after she performed brilliantly in the Indian top division league.
Samba scored 29 goals in 10 matches and won consecutive titles for Gokulam Kerala FC. Samba is Nepal's top scorer with 43 goals in 43 matches for the national team.
Samba, who ruled the roost in domestic football tournaments, is going to play outside Asia for the first time.
She has also played in the Maldives before.
