Ashish Chaudhary's decisive goal has brought Nepal to a happy ending in the SAFF Championship by winning against Pakistan.

Nepal defeated Pakistan by 1-0 in the last group stage match held at Sree Kanteerabha Stadium in Bangalore, India on Tuesday.

Nepal had defeated Pakistan in the SAFF held in 2008. Nepal inflicted a defeat on Pakistan once again after 15 years. With the win, Nepal has ended the journey of SAFF by being in the third position after gaining 3 points in the points table. Pakistan went winless.

The goal scored by Ashish in the 80th minute of the match became decisive in Nepal's victory. Pakistan's goalkeeper had no chance to stop Ashish's powerful shot from outside the box. This is Ashish's debut goal in the national team.

Nepal and Pakistan, who were eliminated from the group stage with one match to play, fought for prestige in today's match.

In the first half, Nepal put Pakistan under some pressure, but they could not make use of it even though they had some good chances to score.

After a Pakistan player fouled Bimal Gharti Magar near the penalty box area, the referee gave Nepal a free-kick.

In the 13th minute of the game, Bimal's free-kick went off the top of the post and Nepal missed a chance to take the lead.

Earlier, in the match against India on Saturday, Nepal faced a 2-0 defeat. In the first match of the group stage, they lost 3-1 to Kuwait.
