Appropriation Bill passed thru split of votes: 147 in favor, 108 against

The Appropriation Bill, 2080 for the next fiscal year 2023/24, which was unveiled on May 29, has been passed by a split of votes.

Among the four bills included in the fiscal budget, the Appropriation Bill was passed by the split of votes in the meeting of the House of Representatives on Wednesday.

This is the first time the Federal Parliament went for voting to pass the budget. When the votes were split, there were 147 votes in favor and 108 votes against the Appropriation Bill.

The Appropriation Bill was passed by a majority when votes were divided, rejecting the amendment proposed by the Members of Parliament (MPs) of the opposition parties including the CPN (UML).

There are four bills related to the budget. They include Appropriation Bill, Finance Bill, National Debt Recovery Bill and Loan and Guarantee Bill.
