Manang chopper was in contact till 10:12 am

The Manang Air helicopter flying from Solukhumbu to Kathmandu has gone out of contact since Tuesday morning.

The helicopter took off from the Surke helipad at 10:05 am and went out of contact after 8 minutes. As the helicopter was in contact till Lamajura in Solukhumbu, according to Lukla Tower. 

No sooner Lukla Tower handed over the chopper to Kathmandu Tower, it went out of contact.

'When I tried to contact the pilot, I was unable to contact him. The video appears in the sky until 10:13 am. Couldn't contact after that. Efforts are being made to contact the pilot,” said Gyanendra Bhul, information officer of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal.

The helicopter was flying to Kathmandu with five foreign passengers. The helicopter pilot is a Nepali national.
