A scuffle broke out between the City Police of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and the group led by Nawaraj Bhattarai, the ward chairman of Budhanilkantha Municipality-10, when the former reached the site with an excavator to demolish a slab built on the Kapan River.

The clash between the two sides started when Kathmandu City Police Chief Rajunath Pandey reached Sattale of Budhanilkantha with a dozer.

Ward chairman Bhattarai has complained that he has been ignored when he maintained that coordination between the two local units is necessary when it comes to demolishing structures.

As the dispute escalated, the Nepal Police team intervened. The police have seized the keys of the dozer and asked the people's representatives of both the cities to hold talks.

At present, Bimal Hoda, Chairman of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-7, and the people's representatives of Budhanilkantha are holding talks.
