The melting process of the gold seized at Sinamangal outside the customs office of the Tribhuvan International Airport on July 19 has started.
The gold is being melt at the Mint Division of Nepal Rastra Bank in the presence of the officials of the Department of Revenue Investigation, Central Bureau of Investigation and Nepal Rastra Bank.
The weight of the gold including the disc brake pads was 155 kilo grams. After it was extracted from the disc brake pads, the weight of the gold was 60.789 kilograms.
The actual weight of the gold will be determined only after testing its quality.
