A flight of Buddha Air with top leaders of CPN (UML) on board has returned to Kathmandu without landing at Janakpur Airport.
Senior Vice Chairman Ishwar Pokharel, Vice Chairman Subas Nemwang, Bishnu Paudel, Astalakshmi Shakya, Deputy General Secretary Bishnu Rimal among other leaders were flying to Janakpur to participate in the secretariat meeting of the party being held in Siraha today.
UML Publicity Department Head Rajendra Gautam informed Nepalkhabar that the aircraft was diverted to Kathmandu after noticing technical problems.
He informed that another aircraft left for Janakpur from Kathmandu.
He said, "When the plane malfunctioned, it was returned to Kathmandu before reaching Janakpur. Now, the leaders have flown to Janakpur by another plane."
UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and General Secretary Shankar Pokharel have gone to attend the secretariat meeting via Biratnagar.
The Central Secretariat meeting of CPN (UML) is being held today at Dhangadhimai Municipality-14, Siraha.
According to Yogesh Bhattarai, the Central Secretary of UML and in-charge of Madhesh Province, the secretariat meeting is taking place today as scheduled.
