India is all set to launch a new mission to study about the sun on September 2.
Earlier, Raghunandan Kumar, founder secretary and director at the Planetary Society, briefed about the time the satellite will take to study the sun and the duration the mission will last.
“Aditya-L1 Mission will cover the distance of 1.5 million kilometers within four months. After it reaches a certain point, we will study the sun for five years with the help of five machines,” PTI quoted Raghunandan Kumar as saying.
Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) will launch Aditya-L1 satellite to study the sun from Shreeharikot at 11:50 am on September 2, 2023.
This is going to be the first India mission to study the sun.
India landed Chandrayaan-3 on the southern pole of the moon on August 23, 2023.
