Nepal won the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Asia Region Qualifier for the second time in a row, by defeating Bahrain by 10 wickets today.
After defeating Malaysia by 5 runs in the first match, Nepal won Bahrain by 10 wickets in the second match.
Nepal reached the target of 32 runs given by Bahrain in 2.5 overs.
Opener Sita Rana Magar and Kajal Kunwar shared a 32-run partnership for Nepal to clinch the victory. Kabita remained not out for 17 and Sita for 2 runs.
Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss, Bahrain was restricted to 31 runs in 15.4 overs in the 10th match held at Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Indu Barma single-handedly took three wickets to keep Bahrain at a low score. Indu, who bowled lethally, gave away five runs in four overs and took three wickets including over maidens. Khushi Dangol took two wickets. Kabita Kunwar, Pooja Mahato, Rubina Chhetry took one wicket each.
The 11 runs scored by captain Deepika Rasangika were the highest for Bahrain. Deepika was bowled out by Barma. No other batter could score double-digit runs.
Opener HG Tharanga was bowled out by Kabita Kunwar for four runs. Rasika Rathnamali and Prajna Jagadeesha faced the golden dugout. Abeera Waris for 0 and Ishara Madhuvanthi was run out for 5 runs while Pavithra Shetty is caught out for 1 run.
Group 'A' includes host Malaysia, Bahrain, Bhutan, Qatar and UAE along with Nepal. Group 'B' consists of China, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Thailand and Myanmar.
In the third match of the group stage, Nepal will play against Bhutan on Sunday. Nepal is scheduled to play Qatar on Monday and the UAE in the final match of the group stage on Wednesday.
The top two teams from the group will qualify for the semi-finals. The semi-final match will be held on Friday, September 8. The final match will be held on Saturday (September 9).
The two finalists will play in the 2024 Global Qualifier.
