19th Asian Games: Nepal's table tennis team eliminated in group stage

Nepal has been knocked out from the group stage in Table Tennis team event under the 19th Asian games going on in China. Both the Nepali women's and men's teams have been eliminated in the group stage of the team event.

In the match held here on Saturday at the Gongshu Canal Sports Park Gymnasium, the Nepali women's team lost to India with a score of 0-3.

Nepal's Sikka Suwal was defeated by India's Diya Parag Chitale by 11-1, 11-6 and 11-8 while Nabita Shrestha was defeated by Ahyika Mukharjee by 11-3, 11-7, and Ivana Thapa Magar lost the match to Sutirtha Mukherjee with 1-11, 5-11 and 2-11. 

Similarly, Nepal's men's team was also defeated by North Korea by 3-0.

Samyog Kapali lost to North Korea's player with 7-11, 4-11 and 5-11.  In another match, by Rubin Maharjan was defeated by a score of 11-2, 11-6, and 11-2, while Bilosh Shrestha lost the match to India with 8-11, 2-11 and 3-11. (RSS)
