Japanese police have arrested a Nepali man on suspicion of murdering a Nepali woman in her apartment in Gunma Prefecture, north of Tokyo, media reports said.
Acharya Bishow Raj, who lives in Isesaki City in the prefecture, was arrested on Thursday, according to Tokyo-based NHK World. Police suspect he stabbed Basnet Adhikari Laxmi Kumari with a knife and killed her in her apartment in the same city on Wednesday.
Police say the woman's body had stab wounds, and a man with a knife was seen leaving the crime scene.
Police apprehended the suspect in Niigata Prefecture, on the Japan Sea coast.
They say the man is denying the charge.
