Seven Nepalis who were rescued from the war-torn Israel have crossed the Gaddachauki of Sudurpaschim border and arrived in Mahandranagar on Wednesday.
Out of 18 people rescued by the government in the second phase, seven reached Gaddachauki this morning. The Indian government brought 18 Nepalis along with its citizens to Delhi by plane.
After landing in Delhi, they are heading to their destination.
Superintendent of Police, Kamal Thapa, of District Police Office, Kanchanpur, is preparing to take the seven people who arrived in the country through Gaddachauki to their destination.
“Some of the 18 people have gone home by plane, some have met their family members in India,” he said, “Seven people have reached Mahendranagar by vehicle, we are preparing to take them home.”
According to him, Nanda Singh Bhul of Tikapur of Kailali, Rajkumar Manandhar of Kathmandu, Mamata Thapa, Dilkumari Adhikari Karki, Srita Gurung, Laxman Dulal and Nishchal Shrestha of Morang reached Mahendranagar through Gaddachauki checkpoint.
According to the police, preparations are being made to send people from Kathmandu by plane.
Srita Gurung of Kathmandu's Tokha-8 said that she was very happy to return to her country. She lived in Israel for 14 years.
"There had never been such a disaster as it is now," said Gurung.
In the first phase, the government had brought 254 Nepalis from Israel through a flight of Nepal Airlines Corporation.
Ten Nepali students were killed and one went missing after the Palestinian Hamas militant group launched an attack on Israel on October 7.
