United Nations Secretary General António Guterres has given three different suggestions to successfully conclude the peace process in Nepal.

Guterres, who is on a four-day official visit to Nepal since Sunday, said this while speaking at a press conference held after his meeting with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda.’

He said that the victim's families, human rights, the order of the Supreme Court, and international standards should be taken into consideration while finalizing the issue of transitional justice.

He suggested to pay attention to the side of the victims while concluding the peace process.

He said that Nepal is a country that has been advocating for peace and people's rights for a long time. "The United Nations is deeply grateful for Nepal's contribution to the peace process," the Secretary General said, “"Nepal's peace process should be concluded and justice should be given to the victims.”

He further said that those held hostage in the Israel-Hamas war should be released unconditionally.

"I have my deepest condolences to the families of 10 Nepali students who were killed in the terrorist attack carried out by Hamas and I wish that the missing Bipin Joshi returns safely," he said.
