Nepal and Oman are locking their horns for the title of ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia qualifier today.
The match will start at 11 am at the TU Cricket ground in Kirtipur.
In the semi-final, Nepal defeated UAE by 8 wickets to confirm a meeting with Oman. Similarly, Oman came close to the title by clinching a 10-wicket win against Bahrain.
Both Nepal and Oman have already qualified for the T20 World Cup by winning their semi-final matches. The T20 World Cup will be held in the West Indies and the United States of America in 2024.
Today's match is also a battle of prestige for both Nepal and Oman teams.
Earlier, in the last match of the group stage, Nepal lost to Oman by 5 runs and played the semi-final as the group runner-up.
Nepal wants to avenge that loss in today's game and keep the title at home. On the other hand, Oman will be planning to repeat the result of the first match against Nepal.
The head coach of the Nepali team, Monty Desai, can change one player in the team. Despite the injury, Dipendra Singh Airee, who played in the semi-final, is likely to remain out of the team for today's match.
He missed all the group-stage matches due to a leg injury. But Airee joined the team when the Nepali team was under pressure to beat UAE to qualify for the World Cup.
He may be out of the team in today's match. Sandeep Zora is likely to replace him in the team.
