Visiting Tibet Party Chief Wang in Pokhara

Visiting Communist Party of China (CPC) Secretary of Tibet Autonomous Region, Wang Junzheng, has visited Pokhara on Friday.

Wang arrived in Pokhara on Friday after holding important political meetings in Kathmandu and visited the Pokhara International Airport built with Chinese loans and also held a formal meeting with Gandaki Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pandey.

During the meeting with Chief Minister Pandey, he announced that he would send a technical team to the Pokhara International Airport to study about the direct flight from the Chinese city.

He said that Tibet will support Gandaki Province placing it on top priority. In the meeting, the Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Pandey requested for regular operation of checkpoints of Manang, Mustang and Gorkha districts of Gandaki Province with Tibet Autonomous Region to facilitate the daily life of the people of the province.

Chief Minister Pandey asked Secretary Wang Junzheng for China’s support to construct a two-lane fast-track connecting Korala with Pokhara, and the construction of a 100-bed hospital in Tanahun.

He also requested for regular direct flights from Lhasa, Chendu, Guangzhou and other cities to Pokhara International Airport, which was built with the help of China.

"This will also help trade, tourism and public relations between the two countries," Chief Minister Pandey said.
