Former king Gyanendra Shah unveiled a statue of Prithvi Narayan Shah in Birtamod on Saturday.

Former king Gyanedra Shah unveiled the statue of Prithvi Narayan Shah at EECOMH College in Birtamod on Saturday.

A special kind of stage had been built for the former king to sit on at the venue of the program orchestrated in a show of strength of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP).

Gyanendra Shah reached Jhapa on Friday to unveil the statue of Prithvi Narayan erected on the premises of EECOMH College at Panchakanya.

Shah, who stayed overnight at a hotel in Mechinagar, spent half an hour in the program.

In response to media persons' question whether the republic be abolished, RPP Chairman Lingden said the foundation of the republic has already shaken to its roots, and now it is collapsing soon.

Lingden was in Jhapa for the last 15 days for the preparations of the program.
