A scheduled flight of Nepal Airlines (NA) flew to Dubai on Wednesday two hours before its scheduled time, leaving 31 passengers stranded.

The VVIP flight RA 229 of Nepal Airlines boarded by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ took off at 9:30 PM from the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) without informing the passengers.

Although the flight for Kathmandu-Dubai was scheduled to fly at 11:30 PM, the plane took off from Tribhuvan Airport at 9:30 PM yesterday, said Prajwol Bickram Rana, one among those passengers who missed the flight.

"Many passengers were unable to board the flight of Nepal Airlines due to VVIP flight as Prime Minister Prachanda was departing Nepal to attend COP28 in Dubai,” said Rana, “The flight was rescheduled for 9:30 PM due to the Prime Minister’s departure.”

Nepal Airlines has informed that it will send the stranded passengers to Dubai via other flights on Thursday.
