External Affairs Minister of India Dr S Jaishankar has arrived on a two-day official visit to Nepal today.
External Affairs Minister Jaishankar landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport at 10 am by a special airplane of the Indian Air Force. He was received by Foreign Affairs Minister of Nepal NP Saud at the airport.
External Affairs Minister Jaishankar has arrived in Kathmandu to participate in the seventh meeting of the Nepal-India Joint Commission (JC).
According to the program, Jaishankar will first pay a courtesy call on President Ramchandra Paudel and then Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' at his official residence in Baluwatar.
He will participate in the seventh Joint Commission meeting to be held at Hotel Yak and Yeti in the afternoon. Some bilateral agreements will be signed aside from the exchange of minutes during the meeting, according to the Foreign Ministry.
Similarly, preparations are underway to inaugurate 132 KV three transmission lines. The meeting will be led by Foreign Affairs Minister NP Saud from Nepal. Minister Saud will host a dinner reception for Jaishankar at 6 pm today.
On Friday morning Jaishankar is scheduled to inaugurate the infrastructure building of TU Library and some other infrastructures that started following the earthquake.
Jaishankar will return to New Delhi on Friday afternoon.
