Indian External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar, who arrived on a two-day official visit to Nepal on Thursday morning, has held a meeting with President Ramchandra Paudel.
During the meeting with Indian Minister Jaishankar, President Paudel stressed the need for cooperation in Nepal-India connectivity, mitigation of climate change effects and development of hydropower.
“President Paudel called for cooperation from India on Nepal-India connectivity, mitigation of climate change effects and development of hydropower during the meeting with Jaishankar,” said Press Advisor Kiran Pokharel.
In the meeting, President Paudel said that saving mountains and water resources is a common agenda and it is necessary to seriously work together, according to Press Advisor Kiran Pokharel.
Saying that agriculture, energy, development of tourism and human resource development are the priorities of Nepal, President Paudel asked for cooperation from India for these sectors during the meeting.
In response, Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar said that India is aware of Nepal's potential and mentioned that India will continue to help in all these fields.
Following the meeting with President, Jaishankar, who came out of Sheetal Niwas, has reached Singha Durbar to meet with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
Jaishankar landed at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Thursday morning by a special plane of Indian Air Force to participate in the meeting of the Nepal-India Foreign Ministerial level joint Commission and now he is busy with political meetings.
