Maoist Center finalizes six candidates for NA elections

CPN (Maoist Center) has finalized the names of six candidates for the elections of the National Assembly scheduled for January 25.

An office-bearers meeting of the Maoist Center held at Baluwatar today picked Champa Devi Karki from Koshi Province, Shree Krishna Adhikari from Bagmati, Manrupa Sharma from Gandaki, Bishnu BK from Karnali, Jhakku Subedi from Lumbini and Renu Chand from Sudurpaschim, Maoist Center General Secretary Dev Gurung told Nepalkhabar.

"We are looking at the technical aspect of the candidatures. Some candidates are in the proportional representation list. We will give a final touch to the list after ensuring that it legally and technically okay," said Gurung.   

A ruling alliance meeting held at Baluwatar on Sunday morning distributed 19 NA seats among the coalition parties.

Accordingly, the Maoist Center has got six seats. Three seats of the Maoist Center are going to lie vacant from March 3. Similarly, Nepali Congress has got 10 seats according to the agreement.

The nomination-filing of the candidates for the NA elections is taking place tomorrow (Monday).
