The CPN (Unified Socialist) has finalized its candidates for two seats of the upcoming National Assembly (NA) elections, allocated by the ruling alliance.
According to Rajendra Prasad Pandey, the vice chairman of the Unified Socialist, the party has decided to field Ghanashyam Rijal Bishwakarma in Bagmati Province and Sabitri Malla in Karnali Province.
The Unified Socialist has got only two seats as per the seat-sharing deal sealed by the ruling alliance.
Of the total 19 seats, Nepali Congress got 10 seats, CPN (Maoist Center) 6 seats, Unified Socialist 2 while Janata Samajbadi Party has been given 1 seat.
The six-year term of 20 members of the National Assembly is expiring on March 3. Of them, the elections are being held on January 25 to elect 19 members. The President will nominate one member in accordance with the constitutional provision.
