Complaints have been filed against two candidates who filed their candidacy for the upcoming National Assembly (NA) election.
According to Shaligram Sharma Poudel, the spokesperson at the Election Commission of Nepal, complaints have been registered against Narayan Dutta Bhatta, a candidate from the person with disabilities group representing the Nepali Congress from Sudurpaschim Province, and Bishnu BK, a candidate from Dalit group representing CPN (Maoist Centre) from Karnali Province.
Ramchandra Joshi of CPN (UML) filed a complaint against Bhatta stating that he lacked evidence to prove his physical disability while Hikmat BK of CPN (UML) registered the complaint against candidate BK that his name was in the closed-list of the House of Representatives members' election.
A total of 52 candidates registered their nominations on Monday for the upper house's election to be held on January 25 for 19 vacant posts.
