Parliamentary committee seeks details of deals sealed between Nepal and other countries

Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee of the Parliament has directed the government to furnish a detailed information of the agreements and treaties signed by the Nepal government with the other countries.

A meeting of the Law, Justice and Human Rights Parliamentary Committee held in Singhar Durbar on Wednesday directed the government to provide the details of the agreements and treaties including the signing dates and their present statuses singed between Nepal and other countries.

Reading out the decisions following the meeting, parliamentary committee chairperson Bimala Subedi directed Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs to furnish copies of agreements and treaties.  

Subedi asked the ministry to submit the details of agreements signed between the Nepal government and the Indian government during the Indian External Affairs Minister’s recent Nepal visit to the secretariat of the parliamentary committee within a week.

“The parliamentary committee has directed the government to furnish the details of the agreements signed between the Nepal government and the Indian government during the recent visit of External Affairs Minister of India and with other countries,” reads the decision.
