Costa Rica picked themselves up off the floor to snatch a late win over Japan in a match held at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium in Qatar on Sunday.
Costa Rica clinched a 1-0 win over South Asian country Japan in the second half of the match.
Kishor Fuller of Coast Rica scored a goal in the 81st minute giving a lead to the team. Fuller finished a goal capitalizing on the pass given by Yeltsin Tejeda. The match remained goalless in the first-half.
Japan which held the opponent under control failed to make any goals.
With the win, Costa Rica earned three points paving the way for reaching the knockout stage.

All the four teams in Group ‘E’ have chances to reach the knockout stage. Spain, Japan and Costa Rica have equal three points while Germany is at the bottom without points.
Spain and Germany are locking their horns tonight.
Costa Rica had lost to Spain 0-7 in the first group stage match while Japan had trounced Germany 2-1.
