The Nepal Congress (NC) has postponed all the party programs for three days to mourn the death of central member of Nepali Congress Keshab Budhathoki.

An emergency meeting of the central work execution committee (CWEC) of the Nepali Congress called for Tuesday took a decision to this effect.

Former Minister Budhathoki, 80, who originally hails from Arjundhara Municipality, Jhapa, passed away in the course of treatment at Birat Medical College, Biratnagar on Monday night.

Expressing deep sorrow over the untimely demise of Budhathoki, the CWEC meeting decided to lower flags at half-mast in the central, provincial and district offices on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Similarly, all the programs including the Nepali Congress in Community campaign which had been taking place since January 30 have been adjourned, said central party chief secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel.

A condolence book will be kept in all the central, provincial and district offices until 13th day of Budhathoki’s passing.

Likewise, the Nepali Congress Jhapa District Committee will organize a condolence meeting on the 13th day to pay tribute to the departed soul of Budhathoki.
