Padma Prasad Pandey appointed Federal Parliament Gen Secy

Padma Prasad Pandey has been appointed as the General Secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat.

President Ramchandra Paudel appointed Pandey to the post of General Secretary today after approving his resignation from the post of secretary.

Pandey, the secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat, was working as the acting General Secretary after former General Secretary Bharat Raj Gautam resigned from his post

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Devraj Ghimire, and chairman of the National Assembly, Ganesh Prasad Timalsina, on December 11, 2023 jointly recommended Paudel for the post of General Secretary with the President in accordance with Article 106 of the Constitution of Nepal.

Citing personal reasons, Federal Parliament Secretariat General Secretary Dr Bharat Raj Gautam submitted his resignation to the President.

Pandey was recommended as the next General Secretary after former General Secretary Gautam resigned eight months before the expiry of his term.

Prior to becoming the secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Pandey had served as the Deputy Attorney General of the Office of the Attorney General.

He had been appointed as the secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat on April 20, 2023.
