Nepal's megaproject Kathmandu-Tarai Fast Track (Expressway), by which a vehicle can reach Madhes from Kathmandu within an hour, is under construction. So far, about 31 percent of the construction work has been completed.

Now it takes at least five hours by car to reach Nijgadh from Kathmandu via the Kantipath or Kulekhani Highway that passes through Hetauda.

But when the Expressway is ready, the vehicle can reach Madhesh in one hour.

The Expressway from Khokna in Lalitpur to Bara in Nijgadh is 71 km long.

The construction work is going on in full swing after the Council of Ministers gave the responsibility of construction to the Nepali Army in 2074 BS.
