World Cup League 2: Nepal sets 173-run target for Netherlands

Nepal has set a 173-run target for Netherlands in the tri-series of the ICC World Cup League 2 underway in Kirtipur on Sunday.

Invited to bat first after losing the toss at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Sunday, Nepal notched up 172 runs losing all the wickets in 49.3 overs.

Kushal Bhurtel topped the score with 66 runs including eight fours off 93 balls followed by Karan KC with 26 runs including one four and two sixes off 27 balls while Aarif Sheikh, Aasif Sheikh and Rohit Paudel grabbed 22, 17 and 16 runs, respectively.

On the bowling side, Vivian Kingma and Aryan Dutt grabbed three wickets each giving away 39 and 26 runs, respectively while Bas de Leede and Roelof van der Merwe claimed two and one wicket respectively.

Nepal had defeated Netherlands by a wide margin of nine wickets in the first match of the ongoing tri-series.

Of the three matches held under the tri-series, Nepal has only one match. Nepal that defeated Netherlands in the first match lost both the matches against Namibia.

Nepal lost to Namibia by four wickets in the first match and by two wickets in the second match.

Netherlands has also won one and lost two matches in the ongoing tri-series match.

The Dutch team had lost to Nepal in the first match. Similarly, it defeated Namibia by 7 wickets in the first match suffered a 24-run defeat to Namibia.
