Nepal registered a 27-run win against Baroda in a SMS Friendship Cup T20 Tri-Series tournament held in Gurjarat on Tuesday.
Nepal bowled out Baroda for 129 runs while the latter was chasing the 157-run target.
To restrict Baroda from reaching the target, Karan KC took the highest three wickets followed by Sompal Kami and Abinash Boraha with two wickets each while Gulshan Jha, and Dipendra Singh Airee grabbed one wicket each for Nepal.
Nepal defeated Gujarat by 8 wickets in the first match. This is Baroda’s first defeat. It defeated Gujarat by 5 wickets in the first match.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss at the Sai Meghpan Sporrtslife Ground, Nepal notched up 156 runs losing six wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Kushal Malla made the highest 40 runs including three fours and two sixes off 25 deliveries followed by Sundeep Jora with 29 runs while Anil Sah, Rohit Paudel and Gulsan Jha contributed 25, 18 and 13 runs, respectively.
On the bowling side, Baba Khan took two wickets for Baroda. Mohit Mongia and Parikshit Patidar took one wicket each.
Nepali team will now play Baroda on Friday again. Top two teams will play the final.
