Renowned singer Rajesh Payal Rai and his wife Sangbung Ria have legally ended their conjugal relationship in a mutual consent.
According to CP Panthi, the information officer of the District Court Kathmandu, they legally ended their conjugal relationship in the bench of Judge Padam Prasad Pandey on March 28.
Singer Rai has given a 50-million-rupee house built in an area of three aanas in Naxal, Kathmandu, along with five million rupees in cash, according to the agreement.
Similarly, the court awarded the custody of the infant son to Sangbung and singer Rai would keep providing Rs 15,000 per month until the child reaches 18 years of age.
Rai, who kept his conjugal life confidential, himself had filed for divorce at the court. The case was settled in the bench of Judge Pandey. Rajesh Payal and Sangbung had been in a live-in relationship for the past few years.
Sangbu had made public her relationship with Rajesh Payal and the son born through this relationship through social networking sites.
On December 12, 2022, Rajesh and Sangbung had officially registered their marriage.
Sangbung, who originally hails from Khotang, is 26 years younger to Rajesh.
