Deputy General Secretary of the CPN (Maoist Center) Barsha Man Pun has flown to China for a follow-up checkup.
Pun flew to China on a flight of Fly Dubai on Friday evening (7 pm) after his congenital hyperbilirubinemia which he has long been suffering from, recurred.
His disease is called Crigler Najjar Type 2 Syndrome in the medical term. Since there is no direct Nepal-China flight due to the coronavirus pandemic, Pun went to the Chinese city of Shenzhen via a Dubai-Guangzhou route.
Pun is accompanied by his wife Onsari Gharti Magar, the former Speaker. Pun has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Rolpa. He will be treated at the Third People's Hospital in Shenzhen, according to his family sources.
