Health Insurance Board Chairman Dr. Gunaraj Lohani has resigned from his post.
Dr. Lohani tendered his resignation to Minister for Health and Population, Pradip Paudel a while ago. He confirmed his resignation from the post in a conversation with Nepalkhabar.
"I could not work due to various reasons. I thought I should quit when I couldn't work," he said.
Dr. Lohani was recently dissatisfied with Health Minister Paudel. Lohani expressed his displeasure saying that Minister Paudel was making speeches without considering technical preparations.
However, in a conservation with Nepalkhabar, he clarified that his resignation was a personal decision and not a result of any pressure or conflict within the office.
"This isn't an issue with an individual, rather a system that impacts the whole organization," he explained.
He was appointed as the Board chairman by then Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'-led government on November 29, 2023.
