Three out of the 17 people who went to collect mushrooms inside Shuklaphanta National Park in Kanchanpur, have been found safe.
The Nepali Army's Shuklaphanta unit said that this morning, a contingent led by Captain Suman KC of the Ranasingh Dal Battalion, deployed for the security of Shuklaphanta National Park, safely rescued Laxmi Thapamagar, Sita Chaudhary, and Manju Rana Kshetri from the forest inside the Park and handed them over to their families. They are from Beldandi-2.
The army found the three women about four kilometers away near the Lalleri post inside the park. According to the army, all three from Beldadi had snuck into the park on Sunday to collect mushrooms.
Similarly, a group of 14 women entering from Bagphanta in Bhimdatta Municipality-19 is currently without contact inside the park.
According to Ranasingh Dal battalion, a large number of troops have been deployed inside the park to search for missing women.
It is said that the women had gone into the forest area in Bagphanta on Sunday afternoon to collect mushrooms. Tek Bahadur Rawat, the spokesperson of the District Police Office in Kanchanpur, said that a search is underway for the women who have gone missing inside the forest.
