Maoist Center leader Mahara appointed Lumbini CM

CPN (Maoist Center) Parliamentary Party leader Jokh Bahadur Mahara has been appointed as the Chief Minister of Lumbini Province on Friday.

Mahara staked a claim for the post of Chief Minister after the outgoing Chief Minister, Dilli Chaudhary, resigned from the post on Thursday. a

He submitted the claim for the post with a required majority of lawmakers to Province Chief Amik Sherchan this afternoon.

He submitted the claim with the support of 44 lawmakers including 29 lawmakers from CPN (UML), 10 from Maoist Center, three from Janata Samajbadi Party and one from CPN (Unified Socialist) and one independent.
