In a display of youth leadership and diplomatic potential, the Youth Thinkers' Society (YTS), in collaboration with the National Youth Council and Youth For Change, successfully launched the National Model United Nations (NYCMUN) 2024.

This prestigious event, held at the SOS Hermann Gmeiner School in Madhyapur Thimi, Bhaktapur, brought together 200 participants from all 77 districts of Nepal. The three-day conference aimed to foster dialogue, collaboration, and diplomatic skills among the nation's future leaders.

The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of Chief Guest, Deputy Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister, Narayan Kaji Shrestha. Special Guest, UNDP Resident Representative to Nepal, Ayshanie Medagangoda-Labé, also addressed the gathering, lending her support and insights.

Miss Nujju Awale, the Secretary-General of NYCMUN 2024, officially commenced the conference. NYCMUN 2024, themed "Uniting Nations through Diplomacy," provided a platform for participants to engage in simulated diplomatic negotiations on pressing issues like sustainable development and geopolitical disputes.

Through meticulously designed committees and agendas, the conference aimed to cultivate communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills among Nepali youth. The delegates embodied the spirit of cooperation and mutual understanding, reflecting the core principles of the United Nations.

The significance of NYCMUN 2024 extends beyond the conference itself. By empowering young minds to address global challenges, YTS and its partners have planted the seeds for future leadership, resilience, and innovation. As the world grapples with complex issues, the role of youth in shaping a more inclusive and sustainable future is paramount.

YTS promises to ignite intellectual discourse, forge lasting connections, and inspire tangible action toward a more united and prosperous world in the coming days. This event serves as a beacon of hope, illuminating a path toward a brighter tomorrow.
