Vice President of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), Dawa Lama, has been arrested.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, apprehended Lama from Kathandu on Wednesday morning.

Lama had gone absconding after High Court Patan sentenced him to five years in jail in the case related to narcotic drugs.

High Court Patan on June 3, 2007 had slapped Lama with a five-year jail term along with a fine of Rs 5,000 for his involvement in the transaction of brown sugar.

Lama had been arrested with 5 grams of brown sugar from Banasthali, Kthmandu on July 23, 2004.

Originally from Sarlahi, Lama had been staying in Kathmandu.

Then ANFA President Ganesh Thapa had inducted Lama as the coordinator of C Division Club.
