Eight Chinese citizens sustained injuries in a vehicular collision in Pokhara of Kaski district on Thursday morning.
Toyota HiAce, Ba 1 Cha 851, boarded by Chinese tourists heading toward Sarangkot from Hotel Grand of Pokhara collided head-on with Mahindra Scorpio, Ba 13 Cha 5137, at 8:45 am today, said DSP Basanta Kumar Sharma of District Police Office, Kaski.
“Two vehicles collided head-on with each other in front of Rastra Bank Chowk,” said DSP Sharma, “Eight out 13 Chinese nationals traveling in the Toyata HiAce sustained injuries. Their condition is out of danger.”
All the injured are undergoing treatment at Gandaki Medical College, said Sharma.
Meanwhile, the driver of Scorpio jeep, who hails from Netrawati-1, Dhading, Raj Kumar Adhikari, 43, and HiAce driver Tul Bahadur Karki, 41, of Pokhara-9, Prithvi Chowk, have been arrested by the police.
No human casualties took place in the Scorpio since only the driver was driving the jeep.
The Ward Police Office, Baidam, has forwarded the case after taking both the drivers involved in the accident under control.
