Dr Anjan Shakya has been nominated as the lawmaker of the National Assembly.
President Ram Chandra Poudel nominated Dr Shakya as the lawmaker of the National Assembly on Thursday morning in accordance with Article 86 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal, the Office of the President said.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Friday decided to recommend to the President hat Shakya be nominated as a lawmaker for the National Assembly.
Shakya, who holds PhD degree in Management, had served as the Nepali Ambassador to Israel during the premiership of KP Sharma Oli.
Originally from Shankhuwasabha, she also served as a newscaster of Nepal Television and Assistant Professor at Padma Kanya College.
