Ilam-2: UML's Nembang widens lead with 2,282 votes against NC's Khadka

The vote count for the by election in the Ilam constituency 2 is underway. According to the latest vote count results, CPN (UML)'s Suhang Nembang is leading with 7,677 votes while his nearest rival Dambar Khadka of Nepali Congress has obtained 5,394 votes.

The difference between Nembang and Khdka is 2,282 votes.

Similarly, independent candidate Dakendra Singh Thegim (pro-identity group) is in the third place with 4,058 votes.

Similarly, Rastriya Swatantra Party's candidate Milan Limbu is trailing by 1,062 votes.

There are 115,889 voters in the Ilam-2. The voting was held in 149 polling centers, and 79 polling stations.

The turnout in by-poll held in Ilam constituency-2 for House of Representative (HoR) remained at 59.79 percent, according to the Office of the Chief Election Officer.  

The Office said that a total of 69,287 voters including 35,135 men, 34,150 women and two others cast their votes in the HoR by-election.

In the HoR elections held in November 2022, the voters' turnout was 57.44 percent in Ilam constituency 2.
