Speaker Devraj Ghimire has called a meeting of the top leaders of major political parties including Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ today.
According to Shekhar Adhikari, the press coordinator of Speaker Ghimire, the meeting will take place at the Office of the Speaker at 11:30 am.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane and Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairman Rajendra Lingden have been called to the meeting.
The Speaker has called the meeting with the top leaders in an effort to forge consensus before the start of the upcoming budget session which is commencing on May 10, according to Adhikari.
Similarly, main opposition NC has been disrupting the House meetings demanding that a parliamentary committee be formed to investigate Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane in the case of misappropriation of cooperatives funds.
The meeting will also try to forge consensus among the party leaders to deal with this issue, according to Adhikari.
