Karki appointed Koshi province CM

Hikmat Bahadur Karki has been appointed as the Chief Minister of Koshi province government.

He was appointed to the post in accordance with Article 168 (5) of the Constitution. Karki was elected as the Province Assembly member from Jhapa-5 (Ka). Karki was appointed as the Chief Minister with the support of 52 PA members of the CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Center).

Newly appointed Chief Minister Karki would take oath of office and secrecy today itself, according to the Office of the Province Chief.
