Historian and cultural expert Gyanmani Nepal has passed away on Tuesday afternoon. He was 92.
Nonagenarian Nepal, who was suffering from cardiovascular-related ailments, breathed his last in the course of treatment at Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Center, Maharajgunj, a while ago.
Admitted to Civil Service Hospital on Friday, he was then transferred to Gangalal Hospital, followed by Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Center in Maharajgunj, as per doctor's referrals.

Nepal had advocated for conservation of national identities such as Nepali national dress and national flag, among others during his life.
Educated under the tutelage of Naya Raj Pant, a former member of the Nepal Academy, he remained active in research, studies, and writings until very recently.
Gyanmani is survived by two sons.
