The Nepal government has announced to introduce a 10-year Investment Plan in Agriculture from the upcoming Fiscal Year (FY) 2081/082 BS.
The decade long investment plan in agriculture will be adopted in order to be self-sufficient in food grains and vegetables.
Unveiling the policies and programs at the joint sitting of the federal parliament in New Baneshwar today, President Paudel said a 10-year Investment Plan in Agriculture will be launched with the investment from private sectors, cooperatives and the government.
It is expected that this plan, along with the subsidized loans for agro-industries, will make Nepal self-reliant in seeds.
“The subsidized loans will be arranged for agro-industries,” said the President, “An ecosystem encompassing all aspects, from agriculture productions to market access will be devised and implemented.”
Similarly, the government has adopted a policy to encourage husbandry and floriculture on the suitable barren land.
