The Office of the Honorary Consulate of Kirgizstan has been set up at Sitapaila in Kathmandu.
The office was set up after the construction entrepreneur Ramesh Sharma was appointed as the Kirgizstan’s Consul for Nepal.
Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dilip Kumar Paudel, had given an exequatur to Sharma as an Honorary Consul of Kirgizstan for Nepal a few days ago.
Former president of the Federation of Contractors’ Association of Nepal (FCAN) is the incumbent advisor of the Federation.
Sharma is the first person to be appointed as the Honorary Consul General from the construction field.
Following his appointment, Sharma said that he would take the initiative in bringing investment to Nepal from Kirgizstan.
Sharma welcomed the ambassador of Kirgizstan for Nepal with a Nepali Dhaka topi and an idol of Buddha.
Ambassador of Kirgizstan for Nepal, Askar Beshimov, outgoing chairman of Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI), Bishnu Agarwal, lawmaker Mohan Acharya among others were present during the event.
