Nepal loses to Volcanoes in last practice match

Nepal has lost to Winwards Volcanoes in the last practice match held for the ICC T20 World Cup.

Earlier, Nepal won two matches – the first and the second – held at Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. It had won the first match by four wickets and the second match by 49 runs. However, it lost the third or the last match.

Nepal was out bowled out for 138 runs in 17.2 overs while it was chasing the 206-run target set by Winwards Volcanoes.

Captain Rohit Pauel made the highest 53 runs followed opener Aasif Sheikh with 24 runs. Similarly,  Karan KC and Kushan Bhurtel hit 13 and 8 runs, respectively.

In the match held on Saturday night, electing to bat first after winning the toss, Volcanoes notched up 205 runs in 19.5 overs.

Nepali team is leaving for Houston today itself. Similarly, it will play practice matches with Houston Hurricanes on May 21, 22 and 23 at the Prairie View Cricket Complex.

After playing the practice matches, Nepal will head for Dallas on May 25, where it will play warm-up matches with America and Canada as per the ICC schedule.
