Death toll in Lalitpur fire hits four after one more succumbs to burn injuries

The death toll in the warehouse fire in Lalitpur Metropolitan City-17 has climbed to four after one more person succumbed to burn injuries.

According to SP Naresh Subedi, the spokesperson of the District Police Range, Lalitpur, Sanjaya who sustained critical burn injuries passed away on Saturday.

Earlier, two daughters and his wife had died in a fire that broke out in the godown on May 5. 

“Sanjaya breathed his last in the course of treatment at Kist Hospital in Gwarko on Saturday,” SP Subedi told Nepalkhabar on Sunday morning, “With this, the death toll in the warehouse fire has reached four from the same family.”

Earlier on May 13, Rupa Giri, the wife of Sanjaya, died in the course of treatment at the same hospital. Two daughters – Priya, 8, and Elisha, 3, had succumbed to burn injuries on May 6.
