The District Police Office, Kathmandu has taken his son and daughter under control. The police are interrogating them as part of investigation into the death of Krishna.

A preliminary investigation of the police shows that 54-year-old Krishna has committed suicide apparently due to acute financial crisis.

His family members had been staying in a taxi for the last three months, according to Richen, the son of Krishna. Earlier, they had been staying on a rented room at Ganeshthan near Ravibhawan in Kathmandu. To add further woes to his life, his wife jilted Krishna.  They had been staying in the taxi for the last three months for failure to pay the rent, Richen and Rashmi told the police.

Krishna had been a taxi driver for the past 15 years. It was his only source of income.

On the morning of May 20, 2024, Krishna left his daughter Rashmi behind at Setopool and went, along with his son Richen, for a mechanic to repair the taxi.

When they were away from Setopool, Krishna took out a couple of blades and Rs 125 from his pocket and told him to commit suicide by slitting his through with the blade.

“My father had advised me to commit suicide in the jungle of Dakshinkali,” the police quoted Richen as saying, “He said he would go somewhere and commit suicide.”

Police found Richen while he was trying to slit his throat with the blade and rescued from Chalnakhel in Chobhar on Monday. Similarly, on Tuesday 5:20 am, Krishna was found dead with a gag in his mouth at Kageshwari Manohara Municipality-5, Milanchowk, said police.

A team of District Police Office, recovered four blades from his pocket. After hours of search, Police found Rashmi inside a taxi, Ba 1 Ja 965, at Setopool.

Currently, the police are interrogating Richen and Rashmi, as part of investigation, after arrest, said SSP Basanta Rajaure, the chief of the District Police Range, Kathmandu.
