12 including 9 students injured as Rara-bound jeep crashes in Mugu

Twelve people including nine students have sustained injuries when a jeep met with an accident at Jam Hilltop in Khatyad Rural Municipality-2, Mugu.

The jeep, Ga 1 Ja 8249, was heading to Rara Lake on an educational tour carrying students from Bhawani Secondary School based at Kolti of Himali Rural Municipality-5, in Bajura when the accident took place.

The injured are nine students, two teachers and a driver, according to DSP Birendra Thapa of District Police Office, Mugu. The condition of the driver among those injured is critical.

The jeep driver, Lal Bahadur Bhandari, who sustained injuries, is receiving treatment at local health post, said police. The jeep had fallen some 25 meters down the hilly road.
