Main opposition Nepali Congress has reiterated that Home Minster Lamichhane’s name must be mentioned while forming the parliamentary investigation committee.

A meeting of NC leaders held on Sunday morning decided that the name of Home Minister Lamichhane be mentioned in the to be formed parliamentary investigation committee, said NC Deputy General Secretary Jeevan Pariyar, who is also a member of  the taskforce.

“We have been reiterating that Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane’s name should be mentioned in the parliamentary investigation committee. We won’t budge an inch from this stance,” Pariyar told journalists following the meeting, “The ruling parties are of the opinion that Lamihhane’s name is unnecessary after mentioning the name of Gorkha Media Network. Our stance is that the individuals involved in the Media Network should also be included, without which the investigation will not move forward.”

The top leaders will hold a meeting either in the evening today or tomorrow morning in a bid to strike a deal on the formation of the parliamentary probe committee.
