The death toll in the Chitwan pile-up has climbed to two after 17-year-old youth passed away in the course of treatment.
Twenty-one injured are undergoing treatment at various hospitals. The condition of three among those injured is critical, said DSP Bharatraj Rijal of District Police Office, Chitwan.
Earlier, one was killed and 22 others sustained injuries in a pile-up that occurred at Bharatpur Metropolitan City-29 along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section in Chitwan on Sunday night.
A bus, Ba 4 Kha 9086, heading to Pyuthan from Kathmandu, a truck, Na 3 Kha 7915, heading to Muglin from Narayangadh, another bus, Na 7 Kha 3248, heading to Bardibas from Mahottari and a bus, Na 6 Kha 8968, coming to Kathmandu from Birgunj, collided against each other at the same place last night.
"The deceased are yet to be identified," DSP Rijal told Nepalkhabar.
The injured are being treated at various places including Kurintar, Bharatpur, said Rijal.
